Duck.ai and your company’s data
By David Michaelson, MS Last checked October 24, 2026
The short answer
DuckDuckGo removes your IP address and other identifying details before sending chats to the AI companies it uses, and its agreements stop them from using your chats to improve their models and require deletion within 30 days.
Safer setup: Still keep customer names and details out of prompts, because what you type is passed to the AI company to answer.
The five answers
Each answer comes from DuckDuckGo’s own policy or help pages, with the link and the date we read it. Setting names are quoted exactly as DuckDuckGo writes them.
