HubSpot Breeze and your company’s data

By David Michaelson, MS Last checked October 23, 2026

The short answer

HubSpot says it may use your CRM data to train its own AI models, and the AI Model Training setting is on by default; outside AI providers such as OpenAI may not train on it.

Safer setup: Have a Super Admin turn off AI Model Training in your AI settings before your team relies on Breeze. Opting out only applies going forward.

The five answers

Each answer comes from HubSpot’s own policy or help pages, with the link and the date we read it. Setting names are quoted exactly as HubSpot writes them.

We could not confirm 1 answer on HubSpot’s own pages. That answer says so in plain words and links to the page we checked.

HubSpot Breeze: what happens to your data
QuestionAll HubSpot accounts
Trains on your data by default?

Yes, by default. HubSpot may use your customer data to train its own AI models, some just for your account and some across many accounts, and the AI Model Training switch is on unless a Super Admin turns it off. Accounts with Sensitive Data turned on are opted out. HubSpot says its outside AI providers may not train on your data.

How long your data is kept

HubSpot says it keeps retention by its outside AI providers to a minimum, with zero retention where possible. The pages we read give no retention period for Breeze chats or your CRM data.

Who can see it

Your team, under your HubSpot permissions. HubSpot says it limits access to authorized personnel using role-based access controls, and its AI providers can reach only what a feature needs.

Where data is stored

In your HubSpot data center region: the United States, the European Union, Canada, or Australia. HubSpot’s sub-processors page shows where each AI provider processes data for each region.

How to delete

Turning AI Model Training off stops future use only. HubSpot says data already used to train a model cannot be deleted from it.

  2. If you manage more than one HubSpot account, turn the setting off in each one, because it applies per account. Source: knowledge.hubspot.com for this step
  3. In the same AI settings, review which kinds of data AI features may use, such as files, and turn off any your team does not need. Source: knowledge.hubspot.com for this step

What to write in your policy

We use Breeze only in our company HubSpot account, with AI Model Training turned off. Staff do not paste customer details into Breeze from outside HubSpot.
