QuickBooks AI (Intuit Assist) and your company’s data

By David Michaelson, MS Last checked October 23, 2026

The short answer

Intuit’s privacy statement says it may use your information to train its AI and machine learning models, and the QuickBooks terms say what you type to its AI assistants may be used to improve them; the pages we read describe no setting to turn this off.

Safer setup: Keep the books in QuickBooks, but do not paste extra customer details, such as notes or ID numbers, into QuickBooks AI chats. Give staff only the QuickBooks access their job needs.

The five answers

Each answer comes from Intuit’s own policy or help pages, with the link and the date we read it. Setting names are quoted exactly as Intuit writes them.
